The Annual General Meeting of the Alumni Association was held at the Board room of the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo on 29th April 2023. Members joined the meeting physically as well as online via Zoom. 

The current President, Ms. Dilani Alagaratnam was unanimously re-appointed by the membership as the President of the Association for another year.

The President shared the progress of the Association during the 15 months ending on 31 March 2023 and thanked, the membership, the members of the Faculty, the sponsors, donors and well-wishers.  The progress report is available on the website.  In her concluding remarks the President shared some of the plans that would be considered for the coming year, which would benefit the students of the faculty and thanked the outgoing committee members in particular and the committee members, in general, for support extended during the period of 10 months since the last AGM.

It was highlighted that the Association was able to contribute a further Rs. 700,000/- to the Trust Fund during the year making the contribution to the Trust Rs.900,000/-.  With funds from well-wishers, as at 31 March we have approximately Rs. 1.1 Mn in the Trust and the Trustees have been able to disburse a monthly sum to one student and another 4 students will be provided scholarships commencing May 2023.
